Therese has a great deal of respect for the grieving process and is dedicated to assisting those who want to have a more tailored celebration that represents their life. Before founding Elegant Tributes, Therese spent over 10 years with 'Party of Your Life. This Company was focused on helping clients with the funeral process. She has more than 25 years' experience as a wedding and event planner. Therese has a passion for events and a compassion for others and in the past ten years she has focused on harnessing these passions to coordinate funerals and life celebrations. Her planning skills and longstanding relationships ensure you will receive the highest level of professionalism, expertise and understanding.

Therese is a volunteer with Hospice Calgary, Wellspring and Art a la Carte.

FUNERAL DIRECTOR

Susan has been compassionately serving families at their time of need for nearly a decade as a Funeral Director and Embalmer. She spent five years at Leyden's Funeral Home in Calgary and prior to that she worked at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatchewan. She has diverse life experience stemming from international studies, emergency medical services and as an educator. She has a special passion for videography where she tells stories of lives well lived using photos and video clips. Susan’s vision is to take Funeral Services to a new level by combining her experience and knowledge with innovation, technology and creativity.

When Susan is not working you might find her enjoying time with her dog at the dog park, participating in a culinary class, wine tasting or enjoying a nice cup of coffee outside with a good book.

ALLIE VAN ARNAM
FUNERAL DIRECTOR

Allie has always been a small town girl at heart, being born in small town Northern Ontario . Allie also lived in Calgary but she has made her home on a farm in rural Alberta near Cremona for the past 16 years. Allie has been extensively involved in the community volunteering for the local fire department, the Didsbury cemetery committee, etc.   Allie loves helping people understand the funeral process and the options available to them and their families.  She has been an entrepreneur and of course a funeral director. If you ask her what she is truly passionate about it is her four beautiful children.

Allie lives in Carstairs and serves families in the Carstairs/ Airdrie/ Cochrane/ Cremona areas.

Memorial Specialists

Many funeral homes deal with several families every day. We have trained 'Memorial Specialists' who are focused on making your Funeral/ Celebration very memorable and personal. Memorial Specialists are available on an hourly basis to provide expertise and help on all of the details that come with a Funeral/ Celebration.  They only work with one client at a time!

There are no tasks that are too big or too small for our Memorial Specialists. They can handle everything from taking pictures and putting them into photo frames, coordinating with the venue on seating arrangements, booking flights for out of town guests, flower arrangements, ushering, acting as hostess, confirming arrangements, etc. You can trust our Memorial Specialists to make sure that every detail is taken care of!



BONNIE BROWN
MEMORIAL SPECIALIST

I understand what it feels like to lose loved ones having lost several friends and family members.  Planning a funeral while still grieving a loss of someone close to you can be challenging to say the least.  I feel blessed to be in a position to help others during a difficult time.

Planning important events has been a part of my life for the past 18 years.  As a former event center owner, I have helped families with over 3500 weddings and events.  Through this experience I have gained a broad knowledge base of events.  Strict attention to detail makes planning celebrations of life seamless for the families that I work with.  I am very sensitive to what each family wants to make their celebration meaningful and memorable.  My hope is to be an encouragement to every family we serve and touch their lives with a beautiful, personal and memorable funeral for their loved one.

In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, skiing, hiking, fishing as well as spending time with my four darling grandsons.  My husband and I love to travel where we learn about and experience other cultures.

MEMORIAL SPECIALIST/ ELEGANT CARE COORDINATOR

Tammy believes that every life deserves to be honored and celebrated in their own unique way. She considers it a privilege to apply her strong event planning skills to organize a Celebration of Life that reflects the interests, desires and personality of the Loved One. Tammy also has extensive experience in marketing and communications and holds a BA in Communications Studies and a diploma in Radio, Television and Broadcasting. This Celebration of Life expert is a true native Calgarian as demonstrated by her ongoing volunteer and community commitments, including council and board memberships with the Canadian Red Cross, Lunchbox Theatre and the Young Presidents’ Organization.

As an event manager and designer for over 10 years Kathleen’s mantra has always been ‘The Design is in the Details’ and this is a philosophy that she will bring to every life celebration. Ensuring that your loved ones life story will be told in a personal and memorable way involves careful selection of the venue, choice of flowers, décor, entertainment and any additional elements that can be included. Kathleen has always been interested in how other cultures honor and celebrate those who have passed on. She loves to bring what she has witnessed during her extensive travel adventures to life celebrations closer to home. Kathleen’s attention to detail and organizational skills will also ensure that this time is as stress-free and uncomplicated for the family as it can be.
When not busy with events Kathleen enjoys spending time with her children and granddaughter and researching and planning her next world adventure.

Every day our lives are touched by others, some of whom teach, help us or support us. Alexandra believes that when they pass, their lives and their contributions to this world should be celebrated; that is why she loves creating unique celebrations that reflect each individual and their lives. Alexandra started planning events at university and, after a long career in the airline industry, she returned to planning in 2008 when she was hired by The Wedding Pavillion. After receiving her International Wedding Planning Professional certification, she opened her own wedding planning business in 2010 and continues to create unique and charming weddings and events. She presently also tutors for QC School of Event Planning and volunteers as Social Director for the Air Canada Pionairs. Alexandra is a very compassionate, kind and loving person whose intent is to make the planning of a celebration of a loved one a stress free experience at the same time, creating a timeless and elegant celebration that reflects the his/her life.
